Preparation

Cultivating Readiness, Trust & Intention

Embodied Psychedelia · Boulder & Denver

Psychedelic preparation.
Room for your questions.

You don’t have to arrive feeling certain, fearless, or ready to let go. Preparation is where we slow down, get to know each other, and explore what you need before a psilocybin session.

Cultivating readiness,
trust & intention.

Psilocybin preparation gives us time to talk through your intentions, concerns, and expectations before your session. It also gives you a chance to decide whether working together feels right.

We’ll explore what’s happening in your life, discuss your history and support systems, and make room for the practical questions. You can ask about the setting, what my support looks like, and what choices remain yours throughout the process.

I offer preparation sessions for legal psilocybin experiences in Boulder and the Denver area, with virtual sessions and in-person sessions by arrangement.

Clarity · Choice · Support

A foundation, not a script for your journey.

01 / UNDERSTAND

Explore your intentions.

What brings you here? What feels important, uncertain, or difficult right now? We can explore your “why” without turning it into a demand for a particular experience or outcome.

02 / NOTICE

Find your own grounding.

We may explore gentle awareness of sensation, breath, movement, or your surroundings. My sixteen years of body-based practice inform this somatic approach. You choose which invitations feel useful.

03 / PREPARE

Talk through support.

We’ll discuss the session, consent and boundaries, possible challenges, and practical arrangements. We’ll also consider who and what can support you afterward, when everyday life resumes.

What we can explore together

  • Your intentions, hopes, and expectations
  • Questions or concerns about the psilocybin experience
  • Readiness, relevant history, and whether further professional input is needed
  • Grounding practices and awareness of your own signals
  • Consent, boundaries, and how you prefer to receive support
  • Practical plans for the session and the days afterward

You don’t need to perform readiness.

Curiosity and apprehension can exist together. Preparation isn’t a test you pass by saying the right things or appearing calm.

I won’t tell you what your experience should be or ask you to force trust. We’ll make room for honest conversation, including the possibility that you want more time or decide not to proceed.

Preparation supports an informed decision. It doesn’t guarantee a particular experience, and scheduling preparation doesn’t automatically mean a journey will follow.

Before we begin

Questions about preparation

What if I’ve never taken psychedelics before?

You don’t need previous experience to start a conversation. We can discuss what the process involves, your questions, and whether it’s appropriate to move forward. Preparation is part of understanding your options, not a commitment to take psilocybin.

What if I’m nervous or worried about losing control?

That’s something we can talk about directly. We’ll explore your concerns, discuss the support available, and clarify your boundaries and choices. There’s no requirement to pretend you aren’t nervous, and I won’t promise that preparation removes all uncertainty.

Do I need a clear intention before we meet?

No. You can begin with a question, a sense of curiosity, or something that feels unresolved. We can explore what matters to you without deciding in advance what the journey must mean or accomplish.

Should I bring a journal or anything written?

Only if it helps you. A few notes, a drawing, or a voice recording can be a starting point, but none is required. Your reflections belong to you. I won’t interpret your writing or require you to share private material.

How many preparation sessions will I need?

My full facilitation package includes two 60-minute preparation sessions. The amount of preparation you need may vary, and we’ll discuss that together. Additional sessions are $125 per 60 minutes. Completing a set number of sessions doesn’t by itself establish readiness.

Is this psychotherapy, and can we meet online?

I’m a Colorado-licensed Natural Medicine Facilitator, not a psychotherapist. Preparation is part of my facilitation work; I don’t diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If another professional’s input is needed, we’ll discuss that before proceeding.

Virtual preparation is available. We’ll confirm your location and suitability before arranging a session. In-person appointments in Boulder or the Denver area are available by arrangement.

Preparation is
the beginning.

If we move forward, your in-person psilocybin session takes place at a licensed healing center, with integration support afterward. We’ll talk through the whole process before you choose a date.
